"Mirror" by BarlowGirl from Barlow Girl

"Who are you to tell me that I'm less than what I should be?" one Barlow sister demands of her mirror. "You don't define me!"

And so she has overcome the eating disorder that held her captive. The mirror's demands of perfection don't define her; God defines her, "and to Him [she has] beauty beyond compare." I know this song is powerful to those with experience to girls with eating disorders. It's not my favorite that I've heard from BarlowGirl, but that's likely due to its utter lack of applicability to me.

These girls certainly know how to use a piano. The cymbals sound a bit overused on the chorus of this song, but besides that it's another astounding Christian pop rock song of secular musical quality. I say that in a good way—secular songs sadly tend to be much higher quality than Christian ones, and I'm glad this is an exception.

The three Barlow sisters also know how to use their voices. They take advantage of their abilities, each one complimenting, accenting, and strengthening the others. Unlike some bands, they have something to show for the four years they've spent developing their skills.

Unfortunately, some parts of the song sound a bit less appealing than the others. Like "Never Alone, BarlowGirl provides this song as a sample on their PureVolume page.
