"Run" by Snow Patrol from Final Straw

Snow Patrol's "Run" has reached the radio on major stations in my area of the U.S., at least, though I can't say about yours.

On the lyrics of this song, it's little different from Fefe Dobson's passive "Take Me Away," though it's closer to Evanescence's "Anywhere" in that it's encouraging someone that's being brought along rather than leading.

Then again, though the title "Run" suggests they are running somewhere new, the overall impression of the song is of a temporary good-bye that will be shortlived albeit still heart-wrenching to the lovers involved. Maybe they're supposed to be splitting up now so they can be together somewhere safer later?

The lyrics could've been better done. It's a one-sided dialogue, and I honestly can't be sure what the other side's saying. But they are clean, at least, with a possibly hinted attempt by the other person to… Never mind. (I don't think I want to know what "We don't have time for that" is talking about.)

Anyway, the singer's voice would sound at least above average if you could actually hear it. Music that is presumably a background sounds stronger than he does. That music sounds like it was supposed to sound better, but someone mixed the layers improperly.

Eh, it's… I'm going to turn the Nightwish back on, thanks.
