"You better run; you better hide! You better leave from my sight.
Well, there's a good response for a guy who's emotionally abuses you, which Pat Benatar makes the case in her classic "You Better Run." Okay, so she evidently's still madly in love with him despite his lies and cheating, but she's willing to kick him out to stop the games he's playing with her heart. No cursing or blaspheming, here.
Crimes of Passion may have come out in 1980 and sounds it a bit, but there's enough variety in it that you can at least hear why she was a top award-winning rock singer from the '80s through the early '90s. If you don't like the '80s era of rock, though, you likely won't like the song's music.
Though Pat Benatar uses a relaxed vocal style that sounds like the era in which she sang (and from what I understand, she actually helped define that era's sound), she does know how to sing. It sounds like she'd be able to adjust her style a bit from song to song, too, though that impression might be stemming from my previous hearing and reviewing of "Invincible."
The music video is clean, too, though the most interesting thing about it is Pat Benatar's haircut that looks like it would suit a girl today, too. Not that I want my hair that short.
